The SOS Short Messaging System has been set up by the Philippines Center for Migrant Advocacyi (CMA) to help overseas foreign workers (OFWs) in distress (SOS SMS). It is 24 hours, 7 days a week (24/7) text-based ICTi service conceptualized and developed by OFWs and implemented in cooperation with the various CMA partner NGOs worldwide. All the OFW needs is access to a mobile phone, and they can have a service with near-instantaneous, inexpensive, 24/7 reporting of OFW cases from practically anywhere
