Damla Umut Uzun
Damla Umut Uzun (She/Her |Academic/Activist) is a women’s rights activist and LGBTI human rights activist from Turkey. Since 2016, she has been an active leader at Kaos GL, which is short for Kaos Gay and Lesbian Cultural Research and Solidarity Association, founded in 1994, is one of the oldest and largest LGBT rights organisations in Turkey. As a leader, Umut Uzun’s work focuses on international relations and fundraising. Umut Uzun studied Political Science and Public Administration at the Middle East Technical University (METU) and completed her master’s degree in the Gender and Women’s Studies Program at METU in 2019.
