Christy Alves Nascimento

Christy Alves Nascimento is a feminist researcher and organiser with roots in student activism in South Africa. Politically, her sensemaking of movement contexts, in South Africa, in Africa, and beyond, is guided by an intersectional feminist analysis of power. Practically, her work is situated in collaborations with organisations, collectives, and individuals disrupting patriarchal systems and manifesting embodied liberation and agency. She is particularly interested in how the body holds history, as well as the power to express, perpetuate and transform institutional cultures.
